The March 7 edition

Of all the cookbooks in my house, there are only two that permanently reside in the kitchen, such is the frequency to which they are referred. No prizes for guessing those books are Nagi Maehashi’s “RecipeTin Eats: Dinner” and “Tonight”. My household, like so many others, routinely asks, “What would Nagi do?” when it comes to solving our everyday cooking conundrums. In today’s cover profile of Maehashi, writer Jane Cadzow spends time with Australia’s much-loved home cook and examines the elements that contribute to her success. Michael Koziol, US correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, has been getting a front-row view of US President Donald Trump’s second term. It has placed him in the unique position of being able to closely examine the current state of the MAGA movement and the fractures within it. In this issue, he shares his experience attending the annual AmericaFest event, run by Turning Point USA. Finally, we talk to Australian musician Courtney Barnett ahead of the release of her fourth album about her methods for mining her subconscious for songwriting inspiration. – Melissa Stevens, editor
