Blues complete historic series whitewash over Queensland

Queensland 4 NSW 12

NSW have made Origin history with the first series whitewash in the women’s game with a scrappy 12-4 victory on the Gold Coast on Thursday night.

Having already wrapped up the series with wins in Newcastle and Brisbane, the Blues added the clean sweep to their list of honours as they lifted the shield for the 2026 series – their first back-to-back series win since 2019.

“Pretty speechless, to be honest. We didn’t make it easy for ourselves, but we got the job done,” Blues captain and player of the match Isabelle Kelly said after the win.

Full-time: After a scrappy clash that definitely won’t go down as one of the classics, the Blues win 12-4. Yet another simple handling error 30 seconds before full-time summed up the Maroons’ night.

60 min: The Maroons have been their own worst enemy tonight, completing at just 43 per cent! Dreadful. But somehow they’re still a chance to win this match.

Both teams fall down on the basics

Half-time

With one unconverted try each, it’s 4-all at half-time. NSW should be leading by 10 points or more, but the Maroons have done well to stay in the game. It’s been a fairly dour first 35 minutes, but this awesome Victor Radley-style tackle was my personal highlight.
