Man dies minutes after robbing store in Brisbane’s north

A man believed to have robbed a shopping centre in Mitchelton has died after collapsing shortly after police were called but before they arrived.

Officers believed the man suffered a medical episode and found him collapsed near Brookside Shopping Centre on Osborne Road shortly before 11am on Wednesday.

The theft was reported less than 10 minutes earlier.

Officers started CPR, and paramedics were called several minutes later.

The man was unable to be revived and was declared dead at the scene.

A police statement said officers were preparing a report for the coroner and continuing their investigations.
