Body found in house decimated by fire in Brisbane’s south

A body has been found after a fire ripped through a house on Brisbane’s south on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to a single-story house on Foote Street in Acacia Ridge about 1.10pm, where they found the house engulfed in flames.

Four fire trucks were called to fight the blaze, which was under control just before 1.45pm and extinguished about an hour later.

Paramedics said they treated a man in his 40s at the scene with minor injuries.

Foote Street was closed between Mortimer Road and Mulvey Street, with residents urged to stay indoors with their windows closed.

There was significant structural damage to the home, and firefighters could not enter the property.

After a crime scene was initially established, police said on Sunday the blaze was not suspicious.

Fire department investigators did not return to the scene on Sunday.
